Galveston County health officials confirm 14 cyclosporiasis cases, 4 other under investigation

GALVESTON COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Officials in Galveston County are reminding residents to wash fruits and vegetables thoroughly after 14 confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis were identified, according to a release by the health district.

The Galveston County Health District announced it is investigating an increase in cyclosporiasis. So far, they have 14 confirmed cases, with four additional cases under investigation.

Health officials are reminding people to protect themselves by washing fresh fruits and vegetables, washing their hands with soap before preparing or eating food and after using the restroom, and contacting their provider if they experience any symptoms.
